This motor is equivalent to a 3 HP motor, allowing the kayaker to easily and quickly maneuver on the water. With the battery weighing only 15.3 kg, this new motor is easy to use and lightweight. The 915 Wh lithium battery provides you with the highest performance power solution, allowing you to cover more water than you ever imagined! Included with the purchase of the motor, you will receive the charger, throttle, onboard computer, GPS-based range calculation, and an emergency magnetic kill switch. Torqeedo has listened to the feedback over the last few years and has included a new angler mount with a tilt and park mechanism. They have also provided a simple integration with the kayak’s steering unit. This new motor is easy to mount on any fishing kayak. • What power does the integrated battery deliver?
  The battery has a capacity of 915 Wh, i.e. 31 Ah at 29.6 V
• How long does it take to recharge the battery?
  When the battery is completely discharged it takes approximately 10.5 hours to fully recharge. With the solar charger 50 W (accessory) you can charge anytime, during travel, and while the sun is out.

• What useful life can I expect the lithium batteries to have?
  The life expectancy of lithium batteries in recreational use is, more or less, independent of charging cycles. There is no memory effect either, i.e. you can fully charge them after each trip irrespective of the charge status shown in the display. Generally speaking, a capacity loss of approx. 4 % per year is to be expected. The capacity loss will, however, accelerate if the battery is permanently exposed to heat. Also storing the battery always fully charged will accelerate aging. There are no concerns about using the battery in high temperatures, we recommend that you take the battery out of the sun and store it in a cool place after use. Your battery must be returned to a Torqeedo Service Centre for service 8 years after the date of manufacture.

• Can the Ultralight 403 C connect to the steering?
  Yes, it can be connected to your kayak’s steering system. Please refer to your kayak’s instruction manual and Torqeedo’s information on mounting.
• What happens if I capsize?
  If the kayak capsizes, the motor stops automatically to prevent injury-provided the magnetic kill switch is attached to your wrist or life jacket. The motor only runs when the magnetic kill switch is placed in the prescribed position on the remote throttle. Should you fall overboard, the magnetic kill switch will go with you and the motor will stop immediately.
• What is the warranty on the Ultralight 403 C?
  It has a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase for non-commercial use.
• What mounting options are available?
  Torqeedo recommends using the Hobie “evolve” product for all Hobie kayaks, using the Grabner mounting kit for Grabner kayaks, using the Prijon rudder mounting for Prijon kayaks, and for all other kayaks, the motor can be mounted using the mounting ball provided.
