The FPV-Power Power Regulator 12V allows your battery to deliver a steady voltage throughout the entire day. Certain electronics, mainly fishfinders, have a minimum of 11V to run. Once the battery source dips below that minimum, the fishfinder will shut off. With a 12V battery, the voltage levels will naturally drop off as the charge is used. The issue here is that once your battery drops below 11V, some electronics will shut off, but there is still plenty of charge left in the battery. Using a regulator eliminates that problem, as it will allow you to hold a steady voltage through the entire charge of the battery. Allowing your battery to continuously run at 12V throughout the charge gives you the ability to run your electronics much longer. The smaller 1.5A version is sufficient for most fishfinders, but make sure you check the specs for your particular fishfinder to see the maximum amps allowed. If you do need a larger version, the 5A is available as well.
